SENIOR GIS ANALYST

 

 

PURPOSE/ JOB SUMMARY  

The Upbound Sr. GIS Analyst is a critical position within the Market Development Department, responsible for developing and managing geographic information systems, data, models, and tools for use throughout the enterprise across all brands and channels of operation. Internal customers include market planning, store development, mergers & acquisitions, operations management, marketing, product merchandising, human resources and IT. This position reports directly to the Manager of Market Planning and is based on site at the Upbound Field Support Center in Plano, Texas.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES & DELIVERABLES: Develop and manage Market Planning models and tools and perform geospatial analyses that support Market Planning efforts and benefit other Rent-A-Center departments.

  • Compile, update, and integrate geospatial data.
  • Manage all aspects of the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) for Rent-A-Center and its affiliated brands.
  • Provide updates in accordance with scheduled routines and create custom programs and applications.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors and internal customers.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Functional Skills & Expertise level required. 

  • Self-motivated, solid project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate skill in GIS applications and knowledge of spatial theory.
  • Alteryx version 10.x or higher.
  • ArcGIS Pro version 3.0 or higher (ESRI Suite especially ArcGIS Online)
  • GIS data management and integration experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of demographic statistics and psychographic segmentation.
  • In-depth understanding of retail business analytics and market planning standards.

 

Leadership (Management/ Behavioral) Skills & Expertise level required. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively interpret and communicate data results.
  • Ability to demonstrate skill in GIS applications and knowledge of spatial theory
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment, continuously trying to improve processes for greater efficiency

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS or related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years professional GIS work experience, preferably in small-format, multi-unit retail business.
