Job Summary: 

The Pricing Analyst II will support pricing analytics by owning analytical and data engineering tasks. The analyst must maintain database quality, codebase quality, and mathematical validity without accruing excessive technical debt. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and technical, laser-focused on correctness, with an eye for the long run state of the pricing practice.

  • Reports to Director of Pricing

  • Must be able to work in-office Mon-Fri.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering Support

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes supporting analytics and execution of pricing, paying close attention to referential integrity, semantics, maintainability, and documentation.

  • Proactively identify, report upon, and work with production support to resolve, data quality issues in databases the pricing team does not control.

  • Automate manual processes, freeing staff for more valuable pursuits.

  • Support and migrate legacy processes into cloud environments.

Performance Analytics & Strategic Planning

  • Write ad hoc queries supporting senior leadership.

  • Develop reporting on activities such as price tests, predictive analytics, and closely tracked KPIs.

  • Interpret test statistics such as confidence intervals, effect sizes, and p values, correctly and intuitively for non-technical audiences.

  • Make recommendations for potential price changes based on leading and lagging indicators, tests, and prediction model output.

  • Identify creative promotional structures to fill organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (STEM, economics, finance)

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, including the ability to write correct, maintainable queries and analytical code without close supervision.

  • Strong grounding in mathematics (calculus, linear algebra, probability theory) with ability to reason about assumptions, uncertainty, and dimensions.

  • Experience with CI/CD version control (GitHub, DevOps)
