Role Summary 

The Manager, Scrum Management & Agile Delivery is responsible for leading, coaching, and enabling a team of Scrum Masters supporting enterprise technology delivery. This role is a new function within Upbound and plays a critical part in maturing agile execution, delivery accountability, and transparency across engineering and product teams. 
 
This manager partners closely with Innovation and Growth organizations, Product Management, Engineering leadership, PMO, and Finance to ensure delivery teams operate with strong execution discipline, predictable outcomes, and alignment to enterprise portfolio priorities. The role focuses on people leadership, delivery governance, and continuous improvement, rather than direct project ownership. 

Key Responsibilities 

People Leadership & Team Management 

  • Directly manage and coach a team of approximately 10-15 Scrum Masters 

  • Set clear expectations for performance, delivery standards, and agile maturity 

  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development planning for Scrum Masters 

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement 

Agile Delivery Enablement 

  • Ensure consistent application of Scrum and agile practices across delivery teams 

  • Coach Scrum Masters on facilitating ceremonies, managing impediments, and supporting team health 

  • Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to improve delivery predictability and throughput 

  • Identify systemic delivery issues and drive resolution across teams 

Governance & Accountability 

  • Align Scrum Master practices with enterprise portfolio governance and delivery expectations 

  • Ensure visibility into delivery risks, dependencies, and impediments 

  • Support escalation paths for delivery issues impacting timelines, scope, or quality 

  • Partner with Portfolio, Growth and PMO leaders to align agile execution with strategic priorities 

Cross-Functional Partnership 

  • Partner closely with Innovation and Growth teams to support evolving delivery models 

  • Collaborate with Finance to support transparency into delivery capacity and demand 

  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Business Operations leaders to optimize team effectiveness 

  • Act as a liaison between delivery teams and portfolio governance functions 

Process Improvement & Transformation 

  • Drive continuous improvement in agile delivery practices and operating rhythms 

  • Support enterprise transformation initiatives related to agile maturity and delivery optimization 

  • Promote adoption of tools, standards, and metrics that improve visibility and outcomes 

  • Contribute to the evolution of agile and delivery governance frameworks at Upbound 

Scope & Impact 

This role manages a team of 10-15 Scrum Masters and influences delivery across multiple engineering and product teams. The position directly impacts delivery predictability, execution quality, and team health, and plays a key role in scaling agile practices across the enterprise. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field 

  • 10+ years of experience in agile delivery, Scrum Mastery, or technology delivery roles 

  • 3–5+ years of experience leading or managing Scrum Masters or delivery teams 

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks in enterprise environments 

  • Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, PMO, and Finance organizations 

  • Ability to coach teams while holding accountability for outcomes 

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including leading through change 

  • Strong financial acumen 

  • Experience operating within portfolio-driven or governed delivery environments preferred 

Work Location 

Ability to work in the Plano, Texas or Draper, Utah office, Monday through Friday, with travel as needed based on transformation and delivery initiatives.
