Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering and Architecture

Employment Type: Full Time – 5 days/week onsite.
Brief Description
The Cybersecurity Engineering and Architecture Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our cybersecurity infrastructure. This role requires extensive experience in Zero Trust principles, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) architecture, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Privileged Access Management (PAM) technologies, external attack surface monitoring, and data classification and retention strategies. The successful candidate will lead a team of cybersecurity professionals and work closely with other departments to ensure the highest level of security across Upbound group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) to enhance our cybersecurity posture.
- Develop and enforce Zero Trust principles across the organization, ensuring continuous authentication and authorization of all devices and users.
- Oversee the configuration and optimization of SIEM systems to effectively monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents.
- Optimize and maintain IDS/IPS systems to safeguard networks, both onpremise and cloud.
- Manage the deployment and maintenance of WAF, to protect web applications against common web based threats and bots.
- Oversee and manage PAM technologies to ensure secure and controlled access to critical system.
- Implement and manage external attack surface monitoring solutions to identify and mitigate potential threats before they impact the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into all aspects of the corporate and retail operations.
- Develop and maintain both structured and unstructured data classification and retention policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the cybersecurity engineering team.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and proactively implement necessary measures to protect the organization.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and develop remediation plans.
- Create and maintain detailed architecture diagrams and documentation of configurations for all cybersecurity solutions.
- Build and maintain security policies, standards and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in cybersecurity management, with a focus on engineering and architecture.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA).
- Proficiency in building architecture diagrams and documenting configurations.
- Four or more years of Network security experience – Firewalls, IDS/IPS etc.
- Four or more years of Web Application Firewall (WAF) experience.
- Two years working knowledge Cloud security (AWS, Azure) architecture, environment, experience.
- Working knowledge of PAM technologies
- Experience with years Azure Active Directory working experience, Azure IAM, Microsoft Security product line is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of application security principles and tools, secure coding practices, and common vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards such as SOX, PCI DSS, CCPA, NIST
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
