Inventory Data Analyst 

 

Role Overview:

The Inventory Data Analyst develops and implements machine learning models and AI solutions to optimize supply chain operations, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and allocation. This role requires strong programming skills, domain knowledge in supply chain processes, and the ability to build scalable AI solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI/ML Models: Design, develop, and optimize machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models to support allocation, planning, forecasting, and inventory management, and other critical business functions as required.
  • Data Processing: Extract, clean, and preprocess large datasets from multiple supply chain systems for model training and evaluation.
  • Feature Engineering: Create and select meaningful features that improve model accuracy based on domain knowledge.
  • Model Design: Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code for AI model training and inference.
  • Model Deployment: Build scalable pipelines to deploy models into production environments, ensuring integration with existing supply chain platforms.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and tune models to maintain accuracy and adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with inventory, planning, merchandising teams, data engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Automation: Develop automated workflows for data ingestion, model retraining, and reporting.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of models, data sources, assumptions, and workflows.
  • Research & Innovation: Stay current with emerging AI/ML techniques and evaluate their applicability to supply chain challenges.
  • Problem Solving: Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in supply chain processes and propose AI-driven improvements.

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of equivalent data analyst experience
  • Programming in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Data manipulation and SQL querying
  • Time series forecasting and demand planning algorithms
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts (inventory management, allocation, lead times)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ML Ops practices
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
