GROUP DELIVERY DIRECTOR-DIGITAL COMMERCE 

(Plano Texas, In Office) 

 

The Group Delivery Director is a strategic software engineering leader overseeing the Digital Commerce Journey Platform. You are responsible for driving the technology strategy for the Digital Commerce business with the ability to dive deep into technology with engineers. This role is responsible for staying on top of industry trends and emerging technology, specifically pertaining to eCommerce technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Partners closely with business stakeholders to include marketing, product management, engineering and other cross functional leaders. You will build innovative products, services and platforms to grow the Upbound Digital Commerce business 
  • Leads all engineering efforts related to Digital Commerce journey platform, teams and deliverables 
  • Collaborates closely with product management to determine requirements and roadmaps for Digital Commerce and designs strategic technical direction for the way engineering will deliver on that roadmap 
  • Manages employee performance and administrative leadership requirements 
  • Collaborates with enterprise architecture, value streams and platform teams 
  • Partners closely with the Technical PMO Director to ensure successful delivery of initiatives and coverage across key initiatives 
  • Establishes KPI’s for software development as well as delivers on OKR’s 
  • Defines and ensures adherence to engineering standards and drives best practices across the Digital Commerce organization 
  • Partners with QA to ensure high quality software delivery and ensures that teams are effectively responding to issues in a timely manner 
  • Manages and allocates resources effectively to meet delivery expectations and delivers high quality software solutions to drive business value 
  • Stays updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies and software engineering practices and incorporates them into the development process where appropriate 
  • Provides regular reports and updates to executive management on the progress, achievements and challenges of the software engineering function including financial performance and budget utilization 
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement within the engineering team 
  • Accountable for adoption of our agile operating model and delivery standards for all teams 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering or technology 
  • 10+ years of industry experience in retail technology and Digital Commerce 
  • Understanding of quality assurance  
  • Strong experience working in an agile environment 
  • Proven track record of balancing multiple complex cross functional projects and processes with multiple stakeholders 
  • Ability to understand and articulate big picture technology and architecture 
  • Understanding of platform and service development 
  • Experience building, leading and delivering in complex Digital Commerce technology environments 
  • Highly competent with eCommerce technology, trends and delivery 
  • Demonstrated experience delivering quality enterprise software development projects 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to include presentation and negotiation skills with senior executives 
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
