End User Computing Engineer II  - Digital Workplace 

 

Job Summary: 

The Upbound Group is seeking a proactive and innovative Digital Workplace Engineer to join our End User Services team. This role is designed for a Microsoft Office 365 Subject Matter Expert (SME) who doesn't just manage tools but solves business problems. This role will be responsible for identifying untapped potential within the M365 suite to improve the coworker's digital workplace experience using Copilot (or AI Tools), automation, and collaboration while improving Upbound’s security posture.   Interacting with coworkers in other departments is key for gathering requirements, implementing solutions, and collecting feedback.  Coworkers in this role must embody all 6 of the Upbound Values, Customer Centricity, Winning Together, Empowerment, Respect, Simplicity, and Impact. 

 

End User Technologies Engineer II – Digital Workplace 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary SME for the Office 365 suite, identifying use cases to drive adoption and value out of products already in the Upbound environment (Copilot, Power Platform, Intune, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, and other O365 tools) to improve company-wide productivity. 

  • Create architecture and support documentation for deployed solutions, ensuring that L1/L2 support teams are equipped to address issues. 

  • Understanding of integrations between applications and SaaS platforms to enable a more streamlined coworker experience. 

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents needed to drive adoption and increase coworker efficiency and effectiveness. 

  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain M365 tenant security best practices, including AI Policies, Conditional Access policies and Data Loss Prevention (DLP). 

  • Stay current with Microsoft’s rapid release cycle, evaluating new features and providing recommendations on how they can be leveraged to aid business objectives. 

  • Identify and evaluate Hardware Standards for Laptops, Desktops, Printers, Mobile Devices, and Collaboration/Conferencing Technologies that may enhance coworker effectiveness. 

  • Work with Offshore teams to ensure proper administration of the Upbound Office365 Instance. 

  • Provide escalation assistance for offshore teams for various tasks. 

  • Assist with Microsoft Licensing Activities to ensure compliance and cost savings. 

  • Identify improvements to conferencing solutions in offices, boardrooms, and conference rooms. 

  • Ensure cyber security standards and policies are adhered to and remediated as identified by the Upbound Cyber Security Team. 

  • Train Offshore Teams on new policies and procedures. 

  • Provide reports to leadership 

  • Coordinate vendor support for various platforms as needed. 

  • Lead or participate in other projects and duties as they are assigned 

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering; or equivalent work experience. 

  • Deep technical knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Office Suite including and not limited to, Copilot, Copilot Agents, Exchange Online, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, and the Power Platform. 

  • Knowledge of desktop end-user technologies and troubleshooting, including PCs, iOS, Android, Windows 11 Enterprise, Mac (all versions), and Printers. 

  • Strong experience with Service Now or other ITSM tools. 

  • Strong experience with Jira or other project tracking tool for project updates. 

  • Strong Experience with Scripting Languages 

  • Strong knowledge of the Hardware and Software Lifecycle Management Principles 

  • Strong Experience with Microsoft Entra AD, Microsoft 365 Groups, and GPOs. 

  • Ability to work, collaborate, and mentor team members and offshore teams in troubleshooting and usage of tools. 

  • Complete assigned project deliverables withing prescribed timelines 

  • Ability to explain complex technical features to non-technical stakeholders in a way that highlights business value. 

  • Experience with IT Hardware and Software asset management tools. 

  • Stay abreast of industry trends. 

  • Help drive adherence to Digital Technologies policies and standards 

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including ability to document requirements, issues, and resolutions 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills working collaboratively with all Upbound Coworkers and vendors. 

  • Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to step outside of core responsibilities to ensure collective team success.
