The Finance Leadership Experience (FLEX) Program is a premier rotational internship designed to develop the next generation of finance leaders at Upbound Group. Each summer, a select group of high-performing interns rotate through Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and Treasury, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how finance influences business strategy, capital allocation, growth initiatives, and shareholder value creation. Through meaningful project work, executive exposure, and cross-functional collaboration, FLEX provides a unique opportunity to build the analytical, business, and leadership skills needed for a successful career in corporate finance.
What You'll Do
- Assist with financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Analyze business performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and business case development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Operations.
- Prepare presentations and insights for finance and business leaders.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to support business decisions.
- Participate in special projects that improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
- Deliver a final project presentation to senior leaders.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance with an expected graduation date between May 2027 and December 2027.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- Demonstrated interest in corporate finance, financial strategy, capital markets, or corporate development.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven leadership potential through academic achievement, internships, campus involvement, athletics, military service, or extracurricular activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in finance, accounting, consulting, banking, corporate strategy, or a related field.
- Experience with financial modeling, valuation, forecasting, data analytics, or business intelligence tools.
- Coursework in Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Modeling, Valuation, Capital Markets, or Economics.
