Summer Intern Program
Upbound Group’s 2026 Summer Intern Program offers an immersive professional development experience that goes beyond traditional internships, providing participants with a comprehensive opportunity to grow both personally and professionally through dynamic networking events, engaging volunteer activities, and exclusive executive leadership speaker sessions. Interns can anticipate a robust learning environment that balances structured training modules with self-paced learning pathways, enabling them to explore their potential, develop critical skills, and gain meaningful insights into corporate culture.
Program Dates
The ten-week program will run from June 1 through August 7, 2026, and is an in-office experience at our company headquarters in Plano, Texas.
The Role
We're seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Content & Design Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in copywriting, content creation, graphic design, and digital marketing. You'll work closely with our marketing team to develop engaging content across multiple platforms while building a professional portfolio and gaining real-world marketing experience.
Key Responsibilities
Write and edit compelling content for social media, point-of-purchase materials, email campaigns, SMS messaging, and web copy across Upbound's portfolio of brands
Craft messaging that resonates with diverse customer segments while maintaining each brand's unique voice and personality
Create eye-catching graphics for social media posts, email headers, digital advertisements, and paid media campaigns
Ensure all messaging aligns with Acima and Rent-A-Center brand voice, visual guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements
Navigate legal and compliance reviews for consumer-facing content, particularly for lease-to-own communications
Work closely with marketing, merchandising, and creative teams to produce copy assets that support national campaigns, seasonal promotions, and product launches
Participate in creative briefings and campaign kickoffs to understand objectives, target audiences, and key performance indicators
Partner with SEO to evolve content strategies that optimize for both traditional search rankings and AEO visibility across emerging AI answer engines
Create content tailored to different stages of the customer journey, from initial awareness to purchase and beyond
Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, Journalism or related field with an expected graduation between May 2026 and December 2027
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office and Social Media Platforms
Ability to work in our home office in Plano, Texas Monday through Friday

Compensation
Summer Interns at Upbound Group are paid hourly in accordance with usual payroll procedures.
$22.00 per hour
