Agile Coach

This role partners directly with delivery teams to improve execution quality, team health, and delivery outcomes, operating flexibly between embedded support and broader advisory depending on team maturity, delivery risk, and performance gaps.

Sitting close to the teams, this role focuses on enabling consistent, reliable delivery through practical coaching, data-driven insights, and continuous improvement. The Agile Coach helps teams adopt sustainable ways of working that improve predictability, reduce friction, and strengthen accountability across cross-functional pods.

What You’ll Do:

Team Coaching and Execution

Coach teams to strengthen ownership, accountability, and delivery discipline. Improve collaboration, resolve impediments, and guide teams through healthy decision making and conflict resolution.

Agile Practices and Planning

Apply Agile frameworks pragmatically to improve planning and execution. Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and flow based practices to ensure work is clear, sized appropriately, and aligned to outcomes.

Metrics and Performance

Establish team level metrics that provide visibility into delivery performance and workflow health. Use measures such as cycle time, throughput, and predictability to identify constraints and improve forecasting.

Continuous Improvement

Lead ongoing improvement practices by helping teams identify issues, test changes, and measure results. Reinforce simple, repeatable approaches that drive sustained performance gains.

Backlog and Readiness

Coach Product Owners and teams on maintaining a clear, actionable backlog. Improve refinement practices to ensure work is well defined, prioritized, and ready for delivery.

Tooling and Workflow

Optimize tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps to improve visibility, reporting, and workflow efficiency. Introduce lightweight automation to reduce manual effort and improve tracking.

Stakeholder Alignment

Partner with stakeholders to improve prioritization, communication, and coordination. Help teams manage dependencies and maintain focus while reducing unnecessary disruption.

Training and Capability Building

Deliver targeted training, workshops, and coaching to strengthen Agile adoption across teams. Support role development for Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and team members.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery, product operations, program management, or related fields, with at least three years coaching teams or leading Agile practices.

  • 2+ years leading Agile practices or coaching cross-functional teams.

  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks with the ability to apply them based on team context and business needs.

  • Proven ability to improve delivery performance, team effectiveness, and operating rigor through coaching and data driven insights.

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and change management skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.

  • Experience with delivery metrics, reporting, and tools such as Jira or Miro, including workflow configuration and optimization.

  • Experience leading workshops or training sessions and driving adoption of new practices.

  • Familiarity with Lean and continuous improvement approaches, with exposure to automation or AI enabled tools as a plus.
